Help Write Our Library’s Next Chapter
Benjamin Franklin formed our country’s first lending library in 1731. Since then, generation after generation of individuals who value education have made generous gifts to their public library. This is where you and the St. Louis County Library Foundation come in. Together, we can sustain and enrich our public libraries and leave a legacy for future readers. We invite you to explore ways to support our mission and make a difference today!

Other Ways to Give
Tribute Gifts
A tribute is an opportunity to make a thoughtful, one-of-a-kind gift in support of literacy. Tribute gifts support the St. Louis County Library’s numerous literacy programs. A personalized acknowledgement of your gift will be sent to the individual honored or the family who has lost a loved one, without reference to the size of the gift.
Your gift will be recognized in the Foundation newsletter.

Planned Giving
Remembering the Library Foundation in your planned giving decisions, such as wills and living trusts helps the library make a lasting impression on the community. One small sentence in your will, trust or insurance policy can make a difference in the lives of many, many people throughout the community. Consider stock sales, donor advised funds or charitable rollovers.
Consultation with your lawyer or financial advisor is strongly recommended. For standard language that you can provide to your preferred advisor, view our sample bequest language.
Endowment Donations
An endowment gift to the Library Foundation provides literacy services and programming that benefit the greater St. Louis community. When you make an endowment gift, you help the Foundation with immediate and long term literacy needs and programs. Endowment donations are invested. A portion of the funds are used for annual needs with the balance being reinvested. See your financial advisor for advice.
